Make your wedding day distinctive, elegant and unforgettable at the Peabody Essex Museum. Located in the heart of historic Salem, Massachusetts, PEM features several elegant spaces ideal for wedding ceremonies and receptions. The award-winning Atrium, designed by Moshe Safdie, is a dramatic gathering space for 125 to 300 guests. With a soaring glass ceiling that stretches the length of the building, the Atrium is the contemporary heart of the transformed museum. For 80 to 200 guests, East India Marine Hall offers an intimate setting with polished wood floors, arched floor-to-ceiling windows and the museums original collection of maritime artworks. Across the street, the Phillips Library Reading Room, with its impressive grand staircase, gold leaf cornices and chandeliers, lends special ambience to ceremonies and receptions for up to 160 guests. The Bartlett and Copeland Galleries, dedicated to the museums Chinese export porcelain collection, are available for dinner parties of up to 80 guests or standing receptions for larger parties. Capture the day with photographs on the adjacent Moongate Patio, or discover one of the museums serene gardens. Additional function space may be booked in one of PEMs impeccably preserved historic properties located throughout Salem.
