    ALYSSA ZABUSKY AND TODD KATZ

MAY 24, 2014 IN GLEN COVE, NEW YORK

Alyssa and Todd met in July of 2011 through friends, at a dinner in the Hamptons. They were immediately drawn to each other and knew right away that they were a fit. From speaking that night, they found that they had similar backgrounds and sensibilities. She knew that he was everything she was looking for in a husband and a partner. During their conversation, they laughed and both wanted to continue talking.

A year and a half later, they were living together. One day, Todd suggested they go to brunch at their favorite restaurant, Rosemary’s, in the West Village. He wanted to dine on the roof garden, overlooking the West Village. When they got there, they walked upstairs and Todd got down on one knee and proposed.

“IT WAS ROMANTIC, INTIMATE AND MEANINGFUL.”

“It was romantic, intimate and meaningful since we were at our favorite restaurant,” Alyssa said. They ate brunch and returned to their apartment. Todd had filled it with lots of flowers. He had then arranged for them to meet up with both of their families and spent the afternoon together.

Early in their relationship, they had gone to Todd’s uncle’s home, in Long Island, an ocean-front estate. Alyssa had always imagined an outdoor Gatsby-like wedding and Todd’s uncle’s home was exactly what she wanted. So, they agreed it was the perfect place for the wedding.

The wedding day was filled with joy and excitement. The weather was perfect, despite a previous week of rain. Everything was very relaxed as Alyssa dressed with her two sisters and mother. The couple spent two hours before the wedding, taking pictures on the beach.

It was their time to be alone and as Alyssa remembers, it was very romantic. Celebrating with family, which included her 100 year old grandparents, made the day special. “We felt loved and supported” says Alyssa.

It seemed as if the venue was literally built for them on the beautiful grounds of the estate. Their tented outdoor wedding was simple, yet chic and elegant. The green plants and white flowers used throughout, were similar to the gardens that brought out the beauty of the property.

In addition to a lavish meal, each guest had their own wedding cake for dessert. The couple made sure there were tapas at the table so food was available to grab a nibble and go back on the dance floor. At the end of the day, the Alyssa and Todd were happy, but also excited to spend their next chapter of their lives together.

For their honeymoon, Alyssa and Todd visited Asia, Hong Kong, Bali and Thailand.
