    LENA AMERKHANIAN AND EDWARD MINASYAN

September 2, 2014 in Los Angeles, California

Lena Amerkhanian met Edward Minasyan in 2004 through her older brother. Their first encounter was when Edward came to their house for a small get-together, and Lena recalls there being an instant attraction. “I remember telling my best friend that I would marry him one day,” she says. Within a month, the two were inseparable.

Eight years later, on April 21, 2012, the couple was having lunch in Malibu and walked down to El Matador Beach. There, Lena saw a message written in the sand, surrounded by a heart: “Will you marry me?” “It was perfect,” Lena shares. “Just us two–intimate and meaningful.”

“IT WAS PERFECT...JUST US TWO–INTIMATE AND MEANINGFUL.” LENA AMERKHANIAN

Before they were even engaged, Lena knew she wanted to work with Christine from Fancy That! Events. The wedding planning process was an enjoyable one, which the couple says is because of the wonderful vendors that contributed. “I had a specific vision for the head table,” Lena explains, “I knew that I wanted to have something hanging over me, but not the typical chandelier; and that’s where Eddie from Eddie Zaratsian Custom Florals and Lifestyle came through, creating the orchid chandelier for my sweetheart table.”

After a year-and-a-half planning their wedding, the big day finally arrived on September 6, 2014. While she was excited, the bride wasn’t feeling the typical nerves and pre-wedding jitters. “People kept telling me that I was a bit too calm, but I think I had peace of mind because I was in such good hands,” she says. “I kept telling them that I’m working with the ‘crème de la crème’ of the wedding industry.” Having waited ten years for this day, she couldn’t wait to marry the love of her life and get the party started.

Once the ceremony concluded, everyone headed for the venue–the Taglyan Complex in Los Angeles–where the newlyweds were able to glance a sneak peak of the ballroom before anyone had entered. They were in awe of everything they saw, as the décor went above and beyond what they had originally envisioned. “It didn’t feel real to me,” says the bride. “It’s as though Fancy That! Events took every vision and style from my mind and transformed it into a reality.”

The sweetheart table design was executed perfectly, and blush pink sofas accented the table around the dance floor. A custom monogram was made with the couple’s initials, which was used on the dance floor, the cover of their silk invitations, and on the mini champagne favors for guests. Everything, from the Taglyan Complex’s service to the orchestra, was phenomenal.

Lena woke up the next day to a stream of texts and messages from her wedding guests, raving about how beautiful and exceptional their celebration was. “I still think of our wedding, and I feel complete,” she says. “I have my dream guy, and I had my dream wedding.”
