Believe it or not, Jason Bashi and Jillian Sullivan originally met in high school, where they grew up, in Birmingham, Michigan. Although they both had crushes on each other at the young age of 15, they remained friends; nothing more. After they graduated they lost touch and went their separate ways with Jillian moving to Los Angeles, California in January 2006 to further pursue her career.
About a year into her move, Jillian received an unexpected email over MySpace from Jason stating that he was moving to San Diego to open an insurance business. Several emails and phone calls later and Jason invited Jillian to visit him in San Diego for his work's Christmas party. After nine years of not seeing one another, sparks were flying and a long-distance relationship began. They dated for a year and half, until Jillian finally moved to San Diego to be with Jason.
Having known all along that she was the one, Jason decided that it was the time to ask Jillian's father, Harold, for his daughter's hand in marriage. Harold's said yes with one request: that Jason would move Jillian back to their hometown so that their family could be together again. Not caring much about where they lived as long as they were together, Jason promised Jillian's dad that they would return home before they were married.
So, Jason surprised Jillian with a romantic proposal at a beautiful beach called Sunset Cliffs in San Diego, where the couple had once gone when they first began dating. It was a moment that Jason and Jillian would cherish forever. After a year-long engagement, Jillian and Jason prepared to move back to Michigan. They could not be happier to be together, and Harold was ecstatic that his son-in-law was a man of his word and brought his daughter home.
