“We met about five years ago, out one night at a club in NYC,” Miron Nissim says about his first encounter with Nicole Hadjibay. “I was pretty good friends with her two older cousins since I went to school with them in Boston, so I knew who she was; but we never really met before that night. I always thought she was pretty and nice, but never really thought of her as someone I could date seriously, as she was too young when I originally met her.”

Five years later, Nicole invited Miron to a summer BBQ at her parents’ house in Long Island. Although he couldn’t make it, Miron decided to ask her out on a date. “We ended up dating for six months,” he explains. “Right after New Year’s, on a rainy Sunday, we went to the Metropolitan Museum where I proposed. It was a special moment to do it surrounded by all this great and historic art, and people cheering for us as they noticed the proposal.”

From the hair and makeup team to the photographer, every detail of the couple’s wedding day transpired as they had hoped. After an intimate “first look” moment, the bride and groom exchanged vows during a ceremony filled with flowers and a spiritual ambiance–especially with the performance of a cantor who was flown in from Israel.

By the time the reception rolled around, the newlyweds and their guests were ready to party. “The energy and mood in the room was so amazing that when dinner was served, everyone was still dancing; and it didn’t take long to get everyone up again after dinner,” the groom describes. “We brought in a special DJ from Amsterdam, The Him. This was all Nicole’s choice, as she is very particular and good with her music. We brought them in to play for an hour and a half at most, but they ended up playing for a full two hours because everyone was so into them. We needed to extend the party to have time to do the cake.”

A week after their wedding celebration, Nicole and Miron set out on a much-anticipated honeymoon that began in Sydney, Australia. From there, they traveled to New Zealand to explore three different cities, followed by a relaxing trip to Bora Bora. Finally, they spent a weekend in LA to take a break from traveling and transition back into their new life together. “People keep asking us what our favorite place or part of our honeymoon was, but neither Nicole nor I have been able to answer that yet,” Miron adds. “We both feel like the whole thing was so perfect, special, and amazing. We mixed in the perfect amount of adventure, city life, beach, relaxation and partying.”
