    MONICA KISIELEWICZ AND MARK HARRIS

July 1, 2017. Kettleby, Ontario, Canada

After meeting online and chatting for a couple weeks, Monica Kisielewicz decided to surprise Mark Harris for the first time at Canada’s biggest car show, Importfest. Surprised and nervous by her own spontaneity, Monica made her way to Toronto, followed two security men rolling giant tires to the entrance of the show, and purchased her ticket just in time to hear the presenter awarding Mark Harris with a trophy.

Having only seen a few pictures of Mark and not being able to locate him in the crowd, Monica texted him, “Congratulations on your win!” Confused by the message, Mark extracted himself from the crowd and headed towards his car. Seeing a man emerge from the chaos, trophy in hand and walking with a funny limp, Monica knew it had to be him. She was immediately taken with his bright smile, and he first noticed her beautiful eyes – and both felt as if they had known each other forever.

THE WEDDING DÉCOR WAS FLORAL HEAVEN

Less than two years later, Mark started scheming with his family and friends to convince Monica to plan what she thought was a surprise birthday party for Mark. Unbeknownst to her, she was actually planning her own engagement party. As she opened the gates to the backyard of her future in-laws’ house, a group of people burst into screams of “Happy Birthday” for Mark. It took a moment for Monica to take in the scene, as she noticed giant balloons spelling out their couple hashtag and their song blasting in the background. Suddenly, Mark bent down on one knee and proposed.

Working in the fashion industry, the bride-to-be felt the pressure of planning a beautiful and memorable wedding – especially with so many people traveling in from overseas. Despite some logistical tweaking and a power outage on the morning of their wedding, however, Monica and Mark were elated as their special day unfolded.

The wedding décor was floral heaven; a croquembouche cake, hand-painted chocolates, and an ethereal flower wall created a dreamlike atmosphere. With delicious food, a well-choreographed surprise groomsmen dance, and an epic jewel-encrusted second dress reveal alongside the pounding drums of a Tassa band, the bride and groom successfully entertained their guests throughout the evening. There was even a McDonalds and poutine station set up at midnight for late-night snacks.

For their honeymoon, the newlyweds spent time on the beautiful island of Santorini in Greece. It was five full days of sightseeing, beaches, ATV rides, and the most incredible food they’ve ever experienced.
