    PRISCILLA CRISTO & GEORGE GRACON

June 8, 2013 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Priscilla Cristo and George Gracon met 10 years ago while moonlighting part time at a local bar. They instantly had a connection and innocent flirts turned into spending extensive time together. "Before we knew it, 10 years had gone by," says Priscilla.

While celebrating Priscilla’s birthday in Quebec City, George finally proposed. They stayed at the romantic hotel of Auberge Saint-Antoine, a perfect setting to what Priscilla describes as the perfect weekend. “George was so nervous that night” remembers Priscilla, “I still remember the look on his face right before he proposed.

“I STILL REMEMBER THE LOOK ON HIS FACE RIGHT BEFORE HE PROPOSED.” PRISCILLA CRISTO

As we were having dinner at a quaint little restaurant in the city, midnight was approaching and I could see George was becoming very nervous. I later realized he was planning to propose in the beautiful wine cellar of the restaurant.” George proposed just before midnight as he promised years before, that we would be engaged before Priscilla turned 30. Her birthday was the next day.

Following their engagement, the wedding planning began. The couple wanted a fun and unique wedding venue where they could customize the reception to match their style and bring in their own caterer, live entertainment and of course wine.

They wanted a party that truly represented their personalities and passions which generally includes food, drink and great friends. The Burroughes in Toronto was the perfect blank canvas to do so. They really wanted to accentuate their love for food and to incorporate George’s Ukrainian and Priscilla’s Lebanese cultures as well as their love of Spain into the wedding.

Their guests dined on mini falafel wraps, Spanish inspired dishes and a modern twist on pierogies to end the evening. The sweet table featured mini cheesecakes, lavender scented cookies and Vanilla Rose French macaroons. To pair the food with drink, they had an exclusive sommelier showcase various wines and specialty cocktails.
