Of all the incredible designers who showcased their latest designs at New York Bridal Fashion Week this season, the Fall 2020 collection by Anne Barge Couture was a definite highlight. With the brand celebrating its 20th anniversary, his particular collection had a great deal of significance in terms of what it represents, paying homage to the label founded by Anne Barge Clegg, and foreshadowing what’s to come under the new direction of Shawne Jacobs.

Some favorite looks from the Fall 2020 collection include an open back ballgown with a wide halter neckline, deep arm cuts, and charming pockets – the perfect gown for the bride in search of something classic, yet fresh and youthful. The lineup of wedding dresses is also peppered by bridal jumpsuits ranging from a chic and timeless lace number with pearls, to an edgy wide-legged ensemble with a plunging neckline.

Rather than looking outside for inspiration behind this particular collection, the design team drew inspiration from Anne Barge’s own 20 year history. “The Anne Barge Fall 2020 collection is the epitome of combining timeless silhouettes with new modern details,” says the brand. “Gowns from the Anne Barge archives are re-interpreted this season, bringing new life to traditional and classic styles. This collection will not only showcase the brand’s evolution over the years but will also pay tribute to its original roots.”

The collection’s architectural shapes and cuts are crafted from fine Italian Kalika – a luxurious silk – for a simple yet refined look, while all-over floral lace adds an ultra-femme touch of elegance. Layers of delicately floating tulle are accented with 3D textures and metallic embroidery, and jumpsuits, bustiers, and illusion necklines have been seamlessly incorporated into the collection as a nod to the present-day Anne Barge bride.

Having mastered the art of balancing timeless and contemporary aesthetics, Anne Barge Couture is giving next year’s brides-to-be a beautiful selection of wedding gowns that honors the brands past two decades of fashion, while giving the next generation a whole new look.
