The Couture Bridal Collection, ‘Pearla’
Francesca Miranda SS26 COLLECTION INSPIRATION
Colombian bridal and womenswear designer Francesca Miranda returns to New York Bridal Fashion Week with the unveiling of her Spring/Summer 2026 Couture Collection: Pearla, an homage to the ocean, the coast, and the timeless mystique of pearls.

To debut the collection, Francesca Miranda hosted a performance presentation on April 8th in New York.
Titled El Tejedor de Olas—The Weaver of Waves—the performance embodied a poetic expression of love and emotion, depicting a couple seeing each other for the first time at the altar, moving through a dance of passion and tenderness. Like the tides, their connection builds in waves—mirroring the emotional rhythm of a union.

Pearla imagines the delicate interlace between woman and sea: the rituals, textures, and treasures that emerge from nature’s rhythm. The collection explores the quiet poetry of transformation, anchored in the symbolic and visual richness of pearls.

Pearla is rich in craftsmanship, showcasing hand-embroidered gowns that reflect the shimmer and textures of the deep sea - drawing from the fisherman’s mesh, embroidered pearls, and
crystals that evoke the ocean’s hidden treasures. Cinched silhouettes, dramatic draping, siren
and column shapes, and sculptural volume come together to create movement and fluidity.
Nacre tones in double-face silk speak to the softness and luminosity of the inner shell, while
liquid organza, hand-painted in Italy, introduces ethereal layers of light and color. The effect is
one of organic elegance - textiles that seem to breathe, shimmer, and shift with every step.

At the heart of the collection is the pearl, long revered as a symbol of purity, innocence, beauty,
wisdom, and emotional balance. For Miranda, these are all characteristics of the moment in a
woman’s life when she is about to say yes to a life she wants to build. Pearls also carry layered
meanings across cultures: representing wealth, beauty, fertility, and luck - and by extension,
the richness of possibility. This symbolism is brought to life in many of the gowns, including one
of the collection’s most striking dresses, featuring over 10,000 pearls, all sourced from Brazil by
Francesca Miranda and individually beaded onto French lace that has been custom-dyed to
blend seamlessly with the pearls’ natural tones.

This collection is a reflection of the duality every woman embodies: the strength of her inner world and the beauty she radiates from within. Each gown tells a story of transformation, capturing both the mystery and the magnificence of the sea, while honoring the timeless qualities of femininity.”- Francesca
