Francesca Miranda Unveils Retratos, Spring 2027 Bridal Couture Collection
COLLECTION INSPIRATION
Francesca Miranda unveils Retratos, the Spring 2027 bridal couture collection—an intimate exploration of identity, presence, and the quiet emotional depth of a woman in the moments just before she says “I do.” Conceived as a series of living portraits, the collection reflects a bride who is not transformed, but revealed—captured with clarity, intention, and profound authenticity.

The collection debuts on April 8 through a fashion film directed by longtime collaborator Andrés Oyuela, set within the evocative location of Mapa Teatro in the colonial center of Bogotá, Colombia. Framed by its historic architecture and layered cultural resonance, the film follows the bride in a state of introspection, suspended between anticipation and stillness. Each frame becomes a portrait—an emotional study of her essence, her strength, and her individuality.

Handcrafted in the Barranquilla atelier, Retratos continues the house’s commitment to artisanal excellence, where texture becomes a language of emotion. Intricate guipure and Chantilly laces are reimagined with sculptural precision, forming gowns that contour the body with both delicacy and structure. A fitted silhouette in openwork lace reveals subtle transparency, its cap sleeves and high neckline framing a dramatic open back—an interplay of restraint and allure. Elsewhere, a long-sleeved lace gown evokes timeless romanticism, its fluid train dissolving into softness and light.

Volume is expressed with quiet sophistication. A strapless silk faille gown, defined by architectural lines and horizontal banding, expands into a sculptural skirt that holds its shape with effortless grace. In contrast, diaphanous 5 gram Japanese organza emerges in a mermaid silhouette, where gentle draping softens the form, creating movement that feels almost ephemeral.
Floral motifs—an enduring signature of the house—appear throughout as hand-embroidered and hand-painted expressions. A strapless gown adorned with delicate botanical brushstrokes introduces a painterly dimension, while sheer corsetry with appliquéd florals offers a modern interpretation of femininity, balancing structure with transparency.

The veil becomes an extension of the narrative: long, weightless layers of tulle embroidered with scattered florals trail behind the bride, evoking memory, gesture, and passage. Each element is considered, each detail intentional—designed not to overwhelm, but to reveal.
