Viktor&Rolf’s Fall/Winter 2022 Mariage collection is an invitation to a sequence of dramatically sculpted ball gowns, bold mini dresses, crystal-embellished veils and intricately tailored creations that weave in Viktor&Rolf’s distinctive vision to bridalwear. The curated offering is infused with florescent patterns crafted by nature, submerged with subtle motifs from the ‘60s and ‘70s to reimagine bridal gowns into timeless statement pieces.

This season details handcrafted satin and organza mountain flowers that twist around the bodice in shimmering motions and spill into elegant trains, covered in blooming floral fur. Embracing crystal-embellished knits and handcrafted crystal embroidery, the collection is invigorated with a novel sense of sophistication, bringing refined lightness to the bridal collection. Introducing a daring take on the mermaid silhouette, refined boat-neck styles plunge into open backs or T-strapped backs adorned with crystal-embellished mountain flowers.

Luxurious fabrics such as mikado flow into pristine and voluminous trains that are juxtaposed against fitted bodices that shimmer with meticulous crystal embellishment or are delicately draped in tulle. Strapless fitted bodices are paired with voluminous eco-taffeta puff sleeves, placing emphasis on cloudlike silhouettes. Through sashes, draped from sweetheart bodices over to the shoulders, falling into a back train, a feeling of movement is evoked which is mirrored through softly folded volants that lead way to flowing slits in slim A-Line skirts.

This collection is enriched by a wide offering of playful sweetheart minidresses, off-shouldered babydoll gowns with signature Viktor&Rolf bows, a ‘60’s inspired cape, reimagined jumpsuits and an alluring kaftan with open back. Focusing on two reinterpreted classics, the ‘Statement Kylie jumpsuit’ pays homage to the ‘70s with wide-legs crafted in a light and flowing crêpe. The bodice’s front drapes from a signature bow at the waistband into a statement hood, opening up the back.

The ‘Watteau Boatneck Gown’ features a squared open back, detailing a dramatic detachable Watteau train with fabric-covered buttons flowing into the hem. The voluminous A-line Mikado skirt contrasts the fitted bodice and 3⁄4 sleeves.

The collection is produced in partnership with Justin Alexander, an international bridalwear designer and manufacturer.
