    JASMIN HOMAPOUR & GABRIEL ABADI

December 2, 2018 in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico

Jasmin Homapour and Gabriel Abadi met through mutual friends in New York City. Although they had an immediate connection, their relationship was completely platonic in the beginning. One day, Gabriel shared that the wanted to date Jasmin, which came as a surprise to her as she’d never looked at him that way before. After a group outing with friends, however, Jasmin spent the rest of the night talking with Gabriel and realized a romantic relationship was worth a try. Soon after, the two were inseparable.

One of Jasmin’s best friend’s families own an art gallery in Manhattan called David Benrimon Fine Arts. When Jasmin was invited to an upcoming show and was told to bring a guest, Gabriel said he had a work meeting and would meet her at the gallery later. As Jasmin approached the gallery door, she noticed it was unusually quiet. Walking in, she saw a trail of red rose petals and noticed a camera lens hiding behind a wall.

IT WAS AN INCREDIBLE NIGHT OF CELEBRATIONS, AND EVERYONE PARTIED UNTIL 8 A.M.

In the gorgeous 5th Avenue gallery, there hung works by Fernando Botero, Andy Warhol, and two extremely large-scale canvases hung from the ceiling at the end of the room. The two canvases were her two favorite paintings by French painter, Pierre Auguste Cot, titled, “Springtime” and “The Storm.”

The only difference in the canvases hanging in front of her was that their faces were photoshopped in the pieces. Gabriel then appeared from a hidden doorway with a bouquet of red roses and got down one knee. Their families joined them for photos and champagne; and later that night, Gabriel had set up a party for their closest friends at The Jane Hotel.

After a lavish engagement party at the Plaza Hotel in NYC, the couple spent the summer scouting potential locations for their destination wedding in Mexico. They ultimately decided on Banyan Tree Mayakoba, where the wedding weekend festivities started on Friday night with a Mexican-themed dinner.

When the big day arrived, the bride and groom’s wedding ceremony took place under the stars and a full moon with the sound of waves crashing in the background. Floor sparklers went off when they shared their first kiss as husband and wife, and Gabriel surprised Jasmin by arranging a firework display that lit up the entire sky.

A large group of mariachis accompanied the newlyweds and their guests to the reception – complete with tequila shots – and the space included ceilings draped in white silk, painted floors, luxurious furniture, and a breathtaking star installation above the dance floor. The floral décor was primarily white with hints of green, and the bride loved how the tables were dressed in hundreds of fresh roses. It was an incredible night of celebrations, and everyone partied until 8 a.m.

The newlyweds enjoyed a mini-moon in Tulum for a few days, staying at Azulik and Be Tulum. Six months later, they jetted off again for an extraordinary honeymoon adventure in Morocco and Spain – the perfect combination of culture, seaside relaxation, and vibrant nightlife.
