On December 31, 2008 both Ariel and Joyce were ringing in the New Year at Madison Square Garden listening to the band, My Morning Jacket. After a fun and festive concert, still masked from one another, they moved with their respective friends to a West Village spot to keep the night going.
That’s when they saw one another. Ariel was drawn to the radiance Joyce exuded while Joyce said to herself, “Who is this?” The music was growing louder, drawing everyone onto the dance floor.
“THEY BOTH KNEW RIGHT AWAY THAT THIS WAS SOMETHING SPECIAL AND THAT THEY HAD A CONNECTION.”
They spotted one another again, but this time they realized they were looking at each other and before long, they were dancing together from fifteen feet, to ten, to five, to two and then they were together.

They both knew right away that this was something special realizing they had a connection. They quickly discovered their shared sense of humor and the potential of a life together.
They were married on September 29, 2012. Today, they still laugh and have used their love and harmony to become business partners in Yoga Shanti in NYC.
