A Black-tie wedding in Baltimore centered around beautiful design and meaningful hospitality

Sara and Jordan’s story began with a swipe on Bumble and an unforgettable first date in Baltimore that resulted in nearly twelve hours of conversation. What was supposed to be a casual evening quickly became effortless conversation, shared laughter, and the feeling that they had known each other far longer than a single night. They were so excited for a second date that they met up the very next day, spending an early “false spring” day walking around Annapolis.

    Rooted in Adventure and Spontaneity

From the very beginning, the couple’s relationship was rooted in adventure, spontaneity, and genuine friendship. Their early dates ranged from Washington Capitals hockey games and Baltimore Orioles Opening Day to March Madness watch parties and romantic weekends away at Virginia wineries. Summers were spent by the water, alternating between weekends in Bethany Beach and Ocean City, and before long they were traveling the world together—exploring Italy, Japan, Costa Rica, France, Mexico City, and beyond.

As their relationship deepened, building a life together came naturally. They moved in together just a few months after meeting and quickly realized they had found not only a partner, but also a best friend in one another.

    Engaged at Sagamore Pendry Baltimore

On February 1, 2025, Jordan proposed to Sara on the waterfront at Sagamore Pendry Baltimore, surrounded by both of their families. Though Sara is usually difficult to surprise, Jordan managed to completely catch her off guard. The proposal was intimate, emotional, and deeply personal, making the Pendry immediately more than just a beautiful hotel, but a place forever tied to one of the most meaningful moments of their lives.

Fourteen months later, they returned to the very same location to celebrate their wedding weekend.

    Beautiful Design and Meaningful Hospitality

The couple’s wedding festivities began with a rehearsal dinner at Rye Street Tavern in Baltimore Peninsula, where guests arrived via privately chartered water taxi along the harbor. Set against panoramic waterfront views, fresh seafood towers, oysters, candlelight, and Sagamore Spirit rye cocktails, the evening introduced guests to the atmosphere the couple had envisioned for the entire weekend: warm, elevated, welcoming, and unforgettable.

Sara and Jordan worked with Shannon Kufta of Kari Rider Events to plan a wedding that felt timeless, sophisticated, and elegant—a black-tie celebration centered equally around beautiful design and meaningful hospitality. Having attended many weddings themselves, they wanted the weekend to feel distinctly personal while also creating an incredible experience for every guest in attendance.

Their ceremony took place in the Pendry’s open-air courtyard beneath a modern chuppah of suspended lush white florals, softened by strands of twinkling greenery woven throughout the space. The all-white floral palette paired with touches of black and gold created an atmosphere that felt simultaneously modern, romantic, and understatedly luxurious.

Following the ceremony, guests transitioned into the historic 1914 ballroom for an intimate candlelit reception. Layers of white florals lined the tables and dance floor while the ballroom’s soaring ceilings and dramatic arched windows created a striking architectural backdrop. The reception glowed almost entirely by candlelight, giving the evening an unmistakably romantic atmosphere.

Throughout the night, intentional personal details were woven into the experience. Jordan and Sara hand selected a private label Sagamore bourbon, bottled exclusively for the wedding weekend, which was served during the celebration and gifted to the groomsmen with custom engraved sipping glasses. The evening also honored the couple’s Jewish heritage with a traditional ketubah signing ceremony and an energetic hora that filled the dance floor with joy.

One of the couple’s favorite moments from the evening was enjoying a highly energetic, packed dancefloor with all of the people they love most gathered together in one place, celebrating, laughing, and dancing the night away.

Immediately after the wedding, Sara and Jordan escaped to Turks and Caicos for a relaxing mini moon filled with sunshine, quiet beach days, and time to finally soak in the reality of newly married life. In one final thoughtful surprise, their luxury travel advisor, Jourdan Tobias Metzger of Fora Travel, gifted them a framed wedding portrait taken just days earlier, which was waiting in their hotel suite with champagne upon arrival. The gesture perfectly captured the spirit of the entire wedding weekend—personal, intentional, and centered around meaningful experiences. Later this summer, the couple will continue the celebration with a honeymoon safari through Africa.
