    MEGAN KOHANIM & DANIEL KAMALI

DECEMBER 15, 2019. NEW YORK, NY

Being part of the same community, Megan Kohanim and Daniel Kamali were always acquaintances but not the closest of friends. It was during a trip to Miami that the two hit it off and Daniel asked Megan out on a first date when they returned to New York. They instantly became best friends and, as their relationship grew, both knew they’d be together forever.

“Daniel proposed on our one-year anniversary at Il Bucco, where he made me a photo book as an anniversary gift of all our memories from our year of dating,” Megan shares. “We were looking through the book together at the end of dinner, and the last page of it said, ‘Will You Marry Me?’ It was a very special and intimate proposal; we then met our friends and family at Gemma to celebrate after dinner.”

“EVERY SINGLE MINUTE OF THAT DAY WAS PERFECTION FROM START TO END.”

With the couple being so easygoing and simply looking forward to getting married, the wedding planning process was an easy and enjoyable one. Their parents helped plan and piece together the tiniest of details, which culminated in a classic New York wedding at Cipriani South Street.

“Words can’t describe how special our wedding day was,” Megan recalls. “We were both feeling so excited, emotional, and a bit nervous. We were one of the first to get married at Cipriani South Street, so there was a lot of excitement all around with everyone helping make our day flawless. The hall itself is so beautiful that it didn’t need much help with décor! From the food, flowers, music, and all the little details, it was really the most special day that will forever be a part of us.”

“Our first look was a moment that we will never forget,” she continues. “Walking down the grand staircase and seeing my soon-to-be groom was a very powerful and exciting moment for me. Daniel even shed a few tears when he first saw me – although, my father did beat him in the tear factor when we had our father-daughter first look! My dad immediately started sobbing the instant he saw me in my wedding gown. Both of those are moments that I will truly never forget. From looking back at our wedding photos and videos, it feels so surreal. Every single minute of that day was perfection from start to end. We are so blessed.”

For their honeymoon, the newlyweds traveled to Hawaii and visited the islands of Kauai and Maui. On their way back to New York, they also stopped in LA to celebrate the New Year.

“It was always my dream to travel and see Hawaii,” says Megan, “so it was a no-brainer when thinking of where we wanted to go on our honeymoon. We went exactly a week after our wedding, bringing all the excitement and the high of our marriage along with us. It was an unforgettable trip.”
