“I am not a big believer of meeting people over social media, but all that changed the day I decided to finally reuse my Facebook account,” says Behnaz Salemi. After signing in and seeing photos of people she may know, Armand Kermani immediately caught her eye. “I was speechless! He had the purest and most beautiful smile I had ever seen in my life and I had this strong feeling that I would be marrying him one day. I friend requested him. We met shortly after and the more time we spent together, the more I knew he was the one!”
For six months, the couple maintained a long distance relationship by flying back and forth between Miami and Montreal. It wasn’t long before Armand decided to pop the question in his own unique way. “During an intimate moment, he grabbed my face, looked me in the eyes, and said ‘I want to wear a ring’ – something far from a typical proposal,” Behnaz recalls. “I was not sure if I understood him correctly, but he kept repeating that he wanted to wear a ring for the rest of his life.”

During one of Behnaz’s visits to Miami, Armand took her to Grove Isle at Coconut Grove. Having fallen in love with the location, the couple decided to host a waterfront wedding at the Palmeras Beach club. “My husband buys me flowers every week and makes my bouquet arrangements himself,” Behnaz shares.
“Knowing our love and passion for details, we decided to plan and organize our entire wedding ceremony ourselves. We made every single centerpiece, big bouquets, arrangements, hundreds of candles, dining table setup, and even the blue orchid decor on our wedding cake.”
The wedding ceremony exceeded the bride and groom’s expectations, with guests commenting on how it was the most beautiful and touching ceremony they’d ever seen. “It was such a success that I am actually planning and organizing wedding events now,” says the bride. “We had our bride and groom song performed by my father and everyone had tears in their eyes.”
Behnaz and Armand’s fairytale wedding experience concluded with a honeymoon in the Greek Isles.
