ANASTASIYA SHEREPA & JOSE ANTONIO PEREZ

March 28, 2015 in Miami Beach, Florida

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then Anastasiya Sherepa and Jose Antonio (Tony) Perez spoke volumes before ever meeting in person. The two first “met” by following each other on Instagram, and even though Anastasiya was living in Miami and Tony in Mexico City, they had a number of mutual friends that eventually brought them together. One night, during one of Tony’s trips to Miami, he had dinner with Anastasiya and a friend. “We had instant chemistry,” Tony says. “And I invited her to have lunch—just us—the next day.”

It went so well that he came back to Miami the next weekend for more dates, and then started visiting twice a month to be with Anastasiya. He knew she was the one and proposed at Miami’s Turnberry Marina before taking a celebratory boat ride.

“HE KNEW SHE WAS THE ONE AND PROPOSED AT MIAMI’S TURNBERRY”

For their wedding, choosing Miami for the location was simple—it was where they met and fell in love, and it was easily accessible for Tony’s Mexico City-based family. They loved The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort’s oceanfront setting, unparalleled service and delicious food; it was the perfect match for their glamorous, elegant affair. Plus, Tony had stayed there a few times during his visits and loved the experience.

The groom’s favorite wedding day moments took place before ever saying “I do”: getting suited up with his best friends and when he first saw Anastasiya in her stunning Rafael Cennamo wedding gown on the beach, where the couple took photos before the ceremony.

They then joined their friends and family outside The St. Regis for their al fresco ceremony before heading indoors for the party.

For the reception, The St. Regis was transformed into an opulent floral wonderland by Always Flowers and Events. Purple and white orchids adorned the tables, creating dazzling centerpieces, while a giant floral wall created a unique and lovely focal point. But the real showstopper was the cake: a towering, flower-topped creation that tasted as good as it looked.

The food was of the utmost importance to this cosmopolitan couple, and The St. Regis created a menu that did not disappoint. “I think that our food was the best food I’ve ever had at a wedding,” notes Tony.

Another highlight was the entertainment and music. The couple had Mz Poppinz and DJ Michael Sarysz with Sarz Entertainment spinning hip hop and club music all night long —literally. Friends and family were drinking and dancing until 4:30 the next morning. “Ukrainians and Mexicans know how to party!” laughs Tony. Due to work commitments, the couple was only able to take a quick honeymoon to Las Vegas and Los Angeles following the wedding. However, they’re excited for a month-long trip to Europe next summer, where they plan on visiting the south of France, Paris and Venice.
