    JENNIFER TRAN & VICTOR REMMERS

July 23, 2016 in Portland Oregon

Jennifer and Victor were married exactly nine years after they met. Their first encounter took place at a Las Vegas nightclub called Jet, and the first thing Victor noticed was Jennifer’s smile. The instant attraction was obvious, and they soon discovered they were both visiting from Portland, Oregon.

“When we got home from our trip, we randomly ran into each other shopping at Nordstrom a few weeks later,” Jennifer says. “We knew we had to give it a chance. It was like fate was pushing us together, and here we are nine years later.”

“WE KNEW WE HAD TO GIVE IT A CHANCE. IT WAS LIKE FATE WAS PUSHING US TOGETHER”

Victor surprised Jennifer and popped the question when the couple had returned to Las Vegas. They were dining at one of their favorite restaurants, Mizumi at the Wynn, where Victor had reserved the entire terrace by the waterfall. After dinner, he got down on one knee and proposed. Jennifer’s parents and sister were also there for the special moment, making the entire night unforgettable.

The wedding turned out to be an all-day event, beginning with hair and makeup at 4am. An 8:30am Vietnamese tea ceremony kicked off the festivities; and even though the bride and groom were running on little sleep, the excitement of the day kept them going. For the tea ceremony, the bride wore a traditional red Vietnamese gown – which was custom made in Vietnam – and gold heels from Jimmy Choo.

After the tea ceremony, the bride and groom were married at the beautiful St. Mary’s Cathedral. Jennifer wore a lace and satin gown by Monique Lhuillier, paired with Swarovski crystal-embellished Sergio Rossi shoes, and the groom wore a custom designed Tom Ford tuxedo.

Having envisioned a grand, elegant wedding in Portland, Jennifer and Victor fell in love with the Portland Art Museum, and knew it would be the perfect location for their wedding reception. The cocktail hour took place in the Fred and Suzanne Fields Ballroom, followed by the reception in the Kridel Grand Ballroom, which was filled with white and champagne roses, and white orchids.

A subtle champagne and silver pattern covered the linens, a custom monogram was projected onto the stage, candles glimmered with gold hardware, and chandeliers with orchids hung over a white dance floor. A DJ was even flown in from Las Vegas to top off the celebration with some Vegas vibes.

Throughout the evening, guests were served a delectable array of hors d’oeuvres, along with a premium open bar featuring “his and hers” specialty cocktails – a Kombucha Mule Vodka for the bride, and a Bulleit Rye Ginger cocktail for the groom. A large wedding menu included plum wine New York beef strip, wild salmon, local organic greens, various Chinese dishes, and a late night spread of pizza, beef sliders, and French fries.

A five-tier wedding cake decorated with white roses and orchids also provided a selection of sweet options – red velvet, carrot cake with toffee crunch, lemon cake with blueberries, dark chocolate raspberry, and strawberry Bavarian cream. “Our wedding turned out to be a perfect day,” Jennifer reflects. “It all came together as if everything was meant to be. It was the best day of our lives.”
