JI YOUNG CHOI AND DAVID KIM

August 19, 2017. San Juan Capistrano, California

Having attended many weddings in California, Ji Young dreamed that she and David would have a truly unique wedding that stood apart from the others. David, a Georgian native, had only spent two years in California – yet, he considers those two years to be the most wonderful years of his life, as that’s where he met Ji Young. As such, he wanted their wedding to embody and illustrate their love story.

Set in San Juan Capistrano, the couple eagerly awoke on their wedding day, after spending several days apart beforehand. Standing in a secluded courtyard at the Mission waiting for his bride, David heard Ji Young calling his name. Turning around, he was stunned by the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen, walking towards him in a gorgeous mermaid-cut bridal gown – a “first look” that rendered him speechless.

CHANDELIERS TWINKLED OVER THE DANCE FLOOR AS THE NEWLYWEDS MADE THEIR GRAND ENTRANCE

The intimate, evocative sounds of a Spanish guitar opened the wedding ceremony at Serra Plaza, where the bride and groom walked down the aisle surrounded by their loved ones. As the sky turned violet, chandeliers twinkled over the dance floor as the newlyweds made their grand entrance while doing the Rumba to the sounds of Nat King Cole.

This was followed by the bride taking a much-needed break as David and his groomsmen performed a dance number to the song of one of her favorite K-Pop boybands.

After an incredible–albeit fleeting–night of dancing and celebrations, Ji Young and David retired for the evening, having experienced the most unforgettable night of their lives.
