    KENDRA GAMBLE & JEFFREY WEBB

August 31, 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia

Kendra Gamble was with friends in South Beach for a bachelorette weekend when she was invited by a group of men (including her future husband, Jeffrey Webb) for cocktails at the Clevelander Bar. She didn’t plan on accepting their offer, but her friends convinced her otherwise.

“It was truly a singular moment in time that changed my life forever,” Kendra says. The two hit it off, talking and laughing for the rest of the night. Kendra was impressed with Jeffrey’s morals and goals, and they continued their relationship long distance (Kendra lived in Atlanta and Jeffrey in the Cayman Islands). Eventually Jeffrey moved to Atlanta so they could be together.

“IT WAS TRULY A SINGULAR MOMENT IN TIME THAT CHANGED MY LIFE FOREVER”

While celebrating her parents’ anniversary at a favorite restaurant in Atlanta, Jeffrey ordered a bottle of champagne. Kendra, thinking he was going to toast her parents, was shocked when he turned to her and proposed.

“He said, ‘Kendra, I’ve asked your father for his approval and permission to marry you and he has said yes, so will you please say yes too?’ I said ‘yes’ what felt like a million times! It was perfect!” she recalls.

The couple originally planned to have an intimate destination wedding in Miami, but as they put together the guest list, they realized they couldn’t get married without all of the people who mean so much to them being there. They decided to stay in Atlanta and have the wedding at their “second home,” the St. Regis.

“There is no better place than the St. Regis for us,” Kendra says. “We go to the spa there regularly and have always stayed there for romantic weekend getaways inside the city.”

To help with wedding planning, Kendra and Jeffrey called on Brian Green of F&G Weddings. Brian, along with Maxine Mecca of Edge Design Group, created the incredible, flower-heavy reception space. When Brian took the couple to see the St. Regis ballroom décor before guests came in, “I literally gasped in awe,” Kendra says. “It was truly beyond anything I could have imagined! It was perfection.”

Kendra especially loved Maxine’s “smothered and covered” mantra. This very Southern phrase was used to describe their floral design; every table was smothered and covered in gorgeous flowers, with some tabletop displays reaching seven feet in height. Even the cake table was created from a ‘linen’ of fresh flowers, something Kendra had never seen done before.

As awe-inspiring as the reception décor was, Kendra’s favorite moment was seeing Jeffrey for the first time as she walked down the aisle.

“I was so happy to be marrying my best friend, and his kind face was just beaming a smile back to me that I barely remember walking towards him,” she says.

After the wedding, Kendra and Jeffrey took a two-part honeymoon. They started with a few days in the south of France followed by an equally wonderful beach vacation in Grenada.
