An Intimate September Wedding at McCormick Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona. In the summer of 2015, Lauren Rosenquist went to Chaparral Park to play kickball as part of her friend’s birthday celebration. At the park, she spotted a guy she didn’t know – Jamison Johnson – and was instantly smitten.
“My heart fluttered, and I had proverbial butterflies in my stomach,” Lauren describes. “I was compelled to be near him and find out who he was. It was at that moment that the phrase ‘love at first sight’ finally hit home. After our kickball games ended, I wasn’t ready for our time to end. So, I invited him to meet me back at our friend’s party. When Jamison saw me, I smiled, and he told me how beautiful I was. I was immediately on cloud nine! Jamison and I spent the evening side by side, dancing the night away.”
“IT WAS AT THAT MOMENT THAT THE PHRASE ‘LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT’ FINALLY HIT HOME.”
Fast forward to February 22, 2019, when the couple was enjoying their annual vacation in Mexico. Jamison took his then-girlfriend completely by surprise by proposing on the beach, surrounded by lapping waves and the glow of the sunset. Afterwards, the newly engaged pair spent the weekend celebrating with family and friends.
“April 4, 2020, was meant to be our original wedding date,” Lauren shares, “as the fourth day of the fourth month adds up to eight, representing infinity. However, the novel coronavirus threw a curveball into our plans, as Arizona was under a strict lockdown. We were able to pivot with the support of our fantastic wedding planner, Mandy Marie Creative, our wonderful vendors, and The Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch.
We plowed forward without any guarantees that we would be able to proceed on September 26, 2020. Through all the uncertainty, Jamison and I continued to make every decision together – living proof that we were already a committed team, ready to compromise when it meant finding solutions that would fulfill each other’s hearts and dreams.”
When the big day arrived, a violinist serenaded the bride and groom as they had their first look under an arch of white roses and greenery. They laughed and cried as they read their vows privately to each other and said, “I do,” and the couple made sure to enjoy each moment of their intimate September wedding. Later that evening, a ballroom reception unfolded with white florals and candlelight, perfectly captured by Leslie D Photography.
“After heartfelt speeches,” says the bride, “our most cherished friends and family dined and danced the night away, sending Jamison and me off to our new life together as husband and wife in a shower of confetti.”
