This stylized shoot was created with modern romantics in mind – those couples who are drawn to authentic imagery that exudes old-world charm with a contemporary twist.

The overall aesthetic is a blend of movement, texture, romance, and a clever use of light and reflection to evoke emotion. Still, there’s an effortless elegance woven throughout the images, as the contributions of each vendor came together seamlessly.

Inspired by fashion, the objective of this stylized shoot was to showcase Merricks House and Johnny Ripe by The Epicurean Group as wedding venues for modern romantics. Manicured gardens and a stunning private residence make for an exclusive and secluded wedding location. Johnny Ripe, Main Ridge is also an ideal combination of rustic country vibes and a contemporary flair, situated on the picturesque Mornington Peninsula.

Wardrobe-wise, bride Aiyana wears a modern one-shoulder custom wedding gown by Melbourne-based bridal designer, Georgia Young Couture; and the look is completed with fresh, dewy makeup by renowned MUA Sophie Knox. To round out the beautiful couple, Julien – the groom – is dressed in a classic, tailored black velvet tuxedo jacket, a button-down dinner shirt, and a black bowtie by Bell & Barnett.

Captured by White Vine Photography, “Modern Romantics” is the perfect example of photographers Daniel and Alexandra’s ability to photograph weddings in a timeless, honest, and cinematic way. Each frame is filled with natural light and uncontrived charm.

“The alchemy in our partnership influences our photography style,” Alexandra shares. “We are in tune with each other. Dan’s energy leads. It is planned and structured, while the energy I hold is comfortable in the unplanned moments, receptive to the energy dynamic of the group and led by intuition. Together, we are able to respond to any experience on a wedding day. We instinctively capture movements and moments which illuminate the true essence of the couple. Our passion is sparked by the excitement of discovering a new way to work with the space, the natural light, and the couple.”

Melbourne Classic Car Rentals provided the 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible as the bride and groom’s getaway vehicle.
