The Anatomy of an Island Wedding

This is the Caribbean wedding worth dreaming about and worth planning for. Every element of this design, created and produced by Celebrations Group Ltd., was built around one idea: a destination wedding should feel like an escape, without ever feeling out of reach.

On the beach at The Westin Grand Cayman, hand-draped taupe silk architecture rises from the sand like temporary monuments—an arch here, a spiral there—catching the island light in soft, deliberate folds. The palette stays neutral and warm. Sand, taupe, and ivory stand against the deep blue of the Caribbean Sea. It’s a combination that photographer Chad Munro captured in stills, which will look as beautiful today as they will in twenty years of anniversary flip-throughs. Meanwhile, Wild Love Artists preserved the movement of the day on film.

The reception reimagines what a tablescape can be. Rather than a single straight line, two tables curve into a spiral formation, wrapped in the same soft draping and grounded by loose, garden-style arrangements of white hydrangea and anthurium. Structured enough to feel intentional, organic enough to feel unforced. Stationery by Magenta Studio carries the neutral palette onto every place setting, tying the details back to the design. It’s a layout that photographs beautifully from above and feels intimate from the guest’s seat.

Even the cake thoughtfully breaks from convention. The Cake Studio skipped the sugar flowers and fondant in favor of fresh pear, grape, lime, and passionfruit pressed into billowing white icing—a design choice that feels current without chasing a trend that will fade.
