A Starlight Themed Wedding at The Mansion On Main Street in New Jersey
Shirish and Sonata's wedding was a glamorous event that stunned every guest in attendance, while leaving the bride and groom in awe of how perfectly the celebration unfolded. After the couple’s shower featured a cake and invitation sign that depicted a galaxy and constellation, they decided to make “Starlight” the theme of their wedding day. Throughout the wedding planning process, stars were thoughtfully woven into the details.

A Pronovias Wedding Gown
Sonata’s wedding gown from Pronovias was a sparkling dream, keeping with the starlight theme while also maintaining an air of elegance and tradition. After initially visiting several bridal stores and trying out ballgown-style dresses, the couple pivoted to mermaid-cut options instead. The Pronovias Liya gown outshined all the others, and Shirish fell in love with it at first sight.
Sonata wanted her wedding dress to have a classic and timeless look, so she honed in on full-length sleeves with an intricate lace design. The lace work was carried over to her neckline, and the entire gown was meticulously woven and customized to Sonata's liking. Its plunging V cut in the back complemented her long veil as well.

The bride's makeup was beautifully done by Anu Sarin, and her mehendi was done by Nishat with the design being intricate and detailed. It was further customized to have groom's name written on the wrist along with the date of the wedding.
While Sonata had a head-turning bridal entrance, Shirish wore a tuxedo from Suitsupply that completed the bride’s gown with its own stylish flair. His boutonniere paired with Sonata’s bouquet of lush red roses, expertly designed by Jacqueline’s Flowers. With Weldone Events on board as their planner, Weddings by Shooting Stars in charge of photography, and content creation curated by Making It Reel Socials, every aspect of the wedding was overseen by a solid team of vendors from start to finish.

The Mansion on Main Street
Sonata and Shirish’s New Jersey wedding took place at The Mansion on Main Street, where an outdoor ceremony was set against the backdrop of a beautiful water fountain and fall foliage. They were greeted by idyllic October weather, and a décor scheme of white florals created the perfect contrast to the venue’s natural surroundings.

Max Richter’s “On the Nature of Daylight” played during the wedding procession march of the groom and family members. The bride then followed, with her mother and father at her side, to the lovely hymn of “Pie Jesu.” Sonata is a gifted pianist and singer, so she wanted to include a personal, musical touch with her brother playing the keyboard and her best friend performing vocals during the procession with an accompanying violinist. After exchanging emotional vows during a Christian wedding ceremony, the newlyweds made their way back down the aisle to the tune of Coldplay’s “Adventure of a Lifetime.”

Cocktail hour took place inside The Mansion, where guests enjoyed appetizers and signature cocktails with names like “Moonlight Sonata” and “Moves Like Jagga.” The couple had also created a special welcome sign with a brightly lit moon lamp and constellations that read: “I would find you in any lifetime.”

A Starlight Reception
For the reception, guests were escorted to the main ballroom, where the team from Wedding Design & Décor transformed the space to fit with the couple’s Starlight theme. The center stage displayed a gold lattice frame as the backdrop, while chandeliers and an LED video wall added layer upon layer of visuals and glamorous details. As the bride and groom shared their first dance to “A Sky Full of Stars,” they felt like they were dancing on clouds, with dry ice and sparklers creating a magical ambiance.

For their second looks, the couple changed into tailored reception ensembles by Nazranaa. Shirish wore a gold colored sherwani that complemented Sonata's pink lehenga. They returned to the festivities to cut a starlight-themed wedding cake, wonderfully crafted by Sunflour Bakeshop. The cake topper was specifically customized by the couple to showcase how gifted Sonata is—the words “Mr and Mrs Jagga” were cut out, and it had a female silhouette playing a piano with a silhouette of a man sitting on top of the piano, admiring the performance. To make it an even more festive occasion, the bride’s father was celebrating his birthday that same day, cutting his own birthday cake while everyone sang the Happy Birthday song.

The guest experience was further elevated by Moghul catering, who served up an unforgettable wedding menu of entrees such as Hyderabadi Goat Biryani, Chicken Tikka Masala, Gongura Mamsam, Paneer Makhani, and Baigare Baingan. The dessert selection included Rasmalai, Khubani Ka Meeta, and Seviyan Kheer. Afterwards, the newlyweds and their loved ones partied the night away on the starlight dance floor with a DJ and MC hyping up the crowd. To this day, Shirish and Sonata still hear from wedding guests who insist it was “the best wedding they had ever been to.”

For their honeymoon, the newlyweds took off to Cabo where they enjoyed a Trash the Dress photoshoot on the beach in their wedding gown and tuxedo.
