A Romantic and Whimsical Wedding at Eau Resort and Spa

Olivia and Jerry have known each other since they were kids, having grown up in the same hometown in New York. As Olivia’s brother’s best friend, Jerry was six years older than Olivia when she first met him at the age of 13. Years later, after Olivia moved home from college, they reconnected and started dating.

On April 6, 2024, the couple was visiting Palm Beach for the weekend. Jerry told Olivia they were going to a brunch hosted by Palm Beach Magazine at the Hive. The Hive is their favorite spot, as well as “the only way” Olivia could be convinced to dress up at 9 a.m.

“He drove over to Mizner Fountain on Palm Beach Island and said he wanted to throw one of his grandma’s coins into it before brunch,” Olivia shares. “Little did I know when we walked up to the fountain, he had coin in hand but then put it in his pocket and dropped to one knee. There was a photographer hiding to capture the moment. There was clearly no magazine event, but we still went to the Hive for brunch to celebrate.”

Romance and Whimsy at Eau Resort & Spa

For Olivia and Jerry, the wedding planning process included “a lot of firsts and lasts all at the same time.”

“It's the first time you design a wedding invitation,” Olivia explains, “and the last time you share a last name with your sister. It is highly emotional the whole time, but in the best way. I found it so special to plan a day for all the people we love the most to be there to celebrate our love story. It was all about the guest experience.”

The wedding took place at Eau Resort & Spa in Manalapan, Florida, and it was love at first site visit.

“When we arrived on our first venue walk through at the Eau,” Olivia describes, “the wedding process already felt like a fairytale. The hotel and ballroom was absolutely stunning. [The team] showed us around and greeted us with champagne. We knew this was our place!”

Although the ceremony was originally planned to be outside, Mother Nature had other plans. Instead, the ceremony was seamlessly moved to one of the Eau’s exquisite indoor venues.

“It still turned out more beautiful than I could have imagined,” says the bride. “I woke up that morning and was excited more than nervous. Jerry and I shared our private vows on the beach together and then the rest of the day flew as we were getting ready. We did not do a first look, so seeing each other down that aisle, I thought we would get emotional. Neither of us cried, but we were just filled with happiness.”

The wedding décor was romantic and whimsical. A bevy of candles created the perfect ambiance, flickering off walls draped in blush velvet. The floral designs included a selection of white hydrangeas, roses, and orchids with blush accents. Instead of towering centerpieces, the couple opted for tabletops with cascading florals to create a “meadow effect” so guests could easily converse across the table.

“The food was amazing,” Olivia adds. “The Eau did a fantastic job. Our cocktail hour featured Nobu sushi, and dinner was a duo plate with steak and shrimp. The guests raved about the food. Our special touch was our fusion band. We had a DJ with live trumpet, sax, and drums, which really made it feel like a live band. We also had flapper dancers come out as entertainment which was really fun. The memories we made will last a lifetime, and we’re so grateful to everyone who helped bring our vision to life. The Eau has a special place in our hearts!”

    A South Pacific Honeymoon

After the wedding, the newlyweds embarked on a two-week South Pacific honeymoon that began in Sydney, Australia. After four days, they ventured to Queenstown, New Zealand, then finished their travels with a blissful six days in an overwater bungalow at Four Seasons Bora Bora.
